C, D, E, F….

C, D, E, F....

Well, it seems I missed a few days. What a shocker. Missed a few days of blog posts, missed a few days at the gym. That’s what Monday’s are for though – to get reorganized and ready for the new start to the week.

The quote in this picture pretty much says it all. I have some big changes upcoming in my life, and I feel like I’m finally ready for them. This is what all the hard work is for, and I’m ready for the hard work to finally pay off. F is for finally. Finally ready for my shot, for my time, for me. No news to announce yet, but finally things should unfold.

This makes me think of the UConn, Kentucky game tonight. That’s what those guys must be feeling, like, finally. This is what all those practices were made for, to get ready for this exact moment and finally fight for the national championship.


B is for Better

B is for Better

Getting to the gym is half the battle. That’s why this week I decided to simplify my goals, and just focus on getting to the gym 6 times this week. It doesn’t have to be a tough work out for it to count as a workout, right? Well sorta… What usually ends up happening is I get to the gym, and I’m surrounded by people working towards their goals. That’s all the motivation I need. Humans are driven by competition, and I can say that it’s personally by biggest motivation. Beating the person next to me.

Sure, my treadmill neighbor today was a 6’2 girl who was running 7.2 her entire run. Not a problem. I ran intervals, so at least I finished at a speed that was comfortable for her to run her whole workout. Who cares. We were both there. Working hard, and getting better. A lot of people thought about getting better today, but that doesn’t mean that they did everything they could to do it.

One day at a time. One step at a time. One forgotten pair of work shoes at a time. I will get better.

A to Z April Challenge

A is for April. Time to jump start into the month of changes. So far in 2014, I’ve rebuilt myself to be stronger and healthier each day. I’ve given up alcohol, pledged to kick start my work out regimen, and made a promise to make more time for me. This means more painting and reading, with less negative thoughts and time spent in the bar. I’ve become more productive and most importantly, happier.

I’m participating in the April challenge, A to Z. A blog post everyday (except for Sunday’s) are dedicated to a new letter each day. Today is for “A” and it’s an awesome day to start a new challenge. Here’s to bettering myself everyday. Cheers to that.
